The Kerrytown Compromise, April’s Sandwich of the Month
This month’s Sandwich of the Month, The Kerrytown Compromise, was made possible by a winning bid at a fundraiser auction for Garrett’s Space. Ashley and Jon Oberheide have been big supporters of Garrett’s Space from their beginning in 2018 and when they saw our Zingerman’s Deli Sandwich of the Month opportunity on the auction block, they thought this was such a great way to support their mission and became the winning bidder.
Jon and Ashley say the inspiration for The Kerrytown Compromise came from their belief that even in divisive times, there are always 2 things we can agree on: the importance of mental health and the love of a good sandwich! They want this sandwich to do even more good work for mental health, so each time we sell The Kerrytown Compromise in April, $2 will be donated to Garrett’s Space ($1 from the Oberheides and $1 from us at Zingerman’s Deli). Garrett’s Space is a local non-profit dedicated to reducing suicides and filling critical gaps in supportive care options for young adults ages 18 to 28 facing mental health challenges.
The Kerrytown Compromise is available every day in April: Zingerman’s pastrami, smoked turkey breast, Swiss Emmental cheese, red onion, spicy fire-roasted New Mexico green chiles, Honeycup mustard, housemade avocado spread on grilled Jewish rye bread from Zingerman’s Bakehouse.
